FSI Temperature Monitoring System
Apr 15, 2025

Kistler's FSI interrogators enable highly accurate temperature measurements in the high-voltage (HV) environment of an EV battery. The patented Fiber Segment Interferometry (FSI) technology measures temperature changes along the entire length of an optical fiber and decouples mechanical stresses from opto-thermal effects. An FSI interrogator supports up to four multi-segment FSI temperature sensors with up to 22 measurement segments per fiber. Data is sampled and processed at up to 25 kHz.
The fiber-optic temperature sensor 2069A is a minimally invasive multi-sensor element for high-voltage environments. It monitors the temperature of high-voltage components such as battery cells and is ideal for EMC-critical components. The interrogator 2549A provides data output via Ethernet or CAN, is EMC immune, and offers a resolution of up to 0.1°C.
The "Kistler Cockpit" software provides real-time data visualization and allows the configuration of various Kistler DAQ units from a single PC.
